| Finally, the bible for the burgeoning Brisbane foodie scene has arrived. “The Foodies’ Guide to Brisbane” contains reviews of all the Brisbane foodie hotspots, as well as detailed sections on the Gold Coast, Mt Tamborine, the Sunshine Coast, and Stanthorpe. Featuring spotlights with handy hints, such as how to store quality chocolate in Brisbane’s humid conditions, “The Foodies’ Guide to Brisbane” is for everyone who enjoys the hunt for the best food around.
Not to miss are the ‘Chefs’ Favourites’ listings where some of the stars of our restaurant kitchens including Matt Moran, Ben Russell, Shinichi Maeda, Ryan Squires and Alastair McLeod tell us where they like to shop for personal supplies.Published by Hardie Grant Books, our own Karen Reyment authored “Foodies’ Guide”. Karen spent much of her childhood with her mum in the family kitchen; she has since travelled the world and broken bread with producers, growers, artisans and chefs. Her food writing is widely published in Australia’s print and online media. Catch up on some of Karen’s food and travel articles here. Now for the good bit, “The 2012 Foodies’ Guide to Brisbane” will be available in all good bookstores early October 2011. This advance copy is already our constant companion. |

Hi Karen,
I hear you are working on the 2013 Foodies Guide. I just thought you might be interested having a look at this cute little cafe / deli in Mitchelton called Delicatezza….I am not sure if you have been there or not but the owner/chef Peter Shaw is extremely talented – cooked for the likes of Oprah and the royal family!
Anyways worth checking out I think. Everything in the deli is hand made by Peter.
A real point of difference.
Thanks for your time,
Tania
